The Zambezi Agency is investing 7,500,000.00 Mt (seven million five hundred thousand meticais) to encourage the development of scientific and technological research and innovation in different areas in the region.
According to the Director General (DG) of the Zambezi Agency, Roberto Albino, who was speaking yesterday in the city of Tete, during the 1st Regional Forum for Scientific Research and Innovation in the Zambezi Valley, the amount will be disbursed, as an award, to five candidates who presented the best development projects, with values ranging up to 1,500,000.00 Mt (One million five hundred thousand meticais).
For Roberto Albino, the scientific research and innovation forum “facilitates the stimulation of scientific research in the region” – bringing “viable solutions to the problems of the communities in the Zambezi Valley region”.
The DG of the Zambezi Agency stressed that 26 researchers and innovators (Tete – 09, Manica – 06, Sofala – 02, Zambézia – 06 and other provinces – 03) took part in this first edition of the scientific research and innovation forum. The Secretary of State for the Province of Tete, Elisa Zacarias, who led the event, said that this initiative contributes to the production of knowledge by scientists, researchers, innovators, teachers and students with a view to solving problems that are ailing the population of the Zambezi Valley region.
