Agência do Zambeze > News > Integrated water and energy supply system

The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, today inaugurated an integrated water and energy supply system in Capimbi, in the locality of Ntemangau, Changara District.

The project includes an energy production capacity of between 66kw/h and 90kw/h; 10 fountains; 16 drinking fountains, 10 for cattle and six for goats; a tank with a supply capacity of 80,000 liters of drinking water; 240,000 liters for irrigating agricultural fields in an investment of around 120 million meticais, government funds, allocated to the Zambezi Agency.

According to the head of state, this water supply system could boost agricultural production and is coupled with (clean) solar energy, a government bet.

“The Changara district will be responsible for supplying other villages that can’t get water on the same scale,” explained the President.

According to the President of the Republic, the Zambezi Agency’s commitment to an integrated photovoltaic energy and water supply system is in line with the government’s guidelines, in conjunction with the ministries of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources and Mineral Resources and Energy.

“This is an authentic demonstration of the results of the Zambezi Agency” – recommending that “anyone who doubts what the Zambezi Agency is doing can come to Ntemangau to witness it”.

The PR called on the population to be vigilant in order to preserve the infrastructure.
