The implementation of the detailed plan (PP) is taking place at the headquarters of Nkantha Locality, Mualazi Administrative Post, Chifunde District, Tete Province.

The initiative is part of the support provided by the Zambezi Agency, to Local Governments, in the incorporation of planning and land use planning and local socio-economic development components.

According to Marcela Tamele, head of the Physical Planning Department, in the Strategic Studies and Analysis Services, of the Zambezi Agency, the prioritization in the elaboration and implementation of the Nkantha Detailed Plan is supported by the location on the border with Malawi and Zambia, associated with the flow. investments that take place in this portion of land that raises a strong demand for land.

According to the Zambezi Agency technician, the implementation of this plan will provide spatial organization in the implementation of multiple activities, avoid conflicts between different actors with interests in land use and benefit, mitigation of informal settlements, as well as contribute to the dynamization of harmonious development and sustainable development of the location.

“In the detailed plan of Nkantha, around 650 parcels will be demarcated for housing, services and commerce purposes”, explained Marcela Tamele, adding that “This activity also includes the opening of structural streets over a length of 5 km”

“In the course of this activity, a training component is planned for a technician from the District Planning and Infrastructure Services (SDPI) of Chifunde in matters of implementing PP and using high-precision topographical equipment,” said Tamele.

The implementation of this plan, which has technical and financial support from the Zambezi Agency, is monitored by staff from the Provincial Directorate for Land and Territorial and Environmental Development.

It should be noted that, for the current year, the Zambezi Agency has planned to implement seven PPs in the provinces of Tete (3), Manica (1), Sofala (1) and Zambézia (2).
