Between February 8 and 9, a technical team from the Zambezi Agency carried out visits to assess potential producers who could benefit from support from the Market-Oriented Production Project in the Zambezi Valley (PROMEZA) in the district of Vanduzi, Manica province.
A total of ten producers were visited, eight of whom are dedicated to vegetable production, one cereal producer, another reno potato producer and a poultry farmer.
PROMEZA, financed by Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB), in coordination with the Zambezi Agency, aims to ensure the commercial production and regular availability of agricultural products to supply the Zambezi Valley region and other regions of the country, thus contributing to replacing imports with domestic products and improving the living conditions of Mozambicans.
The project, budgeted at 120 million meticais, provides funding ranging from 500,000 to 5 million meticais in the areas of vegetable, fruit and legume production and livestock production (poultry and ruminants).
PROMEZA is focused on the districts of Cahora Bassa (Chitima), Marara (Boroma) and Vanduzi (Matsinho).
