The Director General of the Zambezi Agency, Roberto Albino, recently visited an egg production project in Beira City, Sofala Province.
The initiative, called Quinta Bom Ovo, belongs to a young entrepreneur who is a beneficiary of the Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship Financing (FAE) line, an initiative of the Zambezi Agency and the National Investment Bank (BNI).
According to Lote Muchanga, owner of the project, the aviary has a capacity to house up to 7,000 birds.
“The goal is to reach 25,000 birds with breeding and rearing units with a capacity of four thousand chicks,” explained Muchanga. It should be noted that, in Sofala Province, 76 projects have already been financed under the FAE, mostly linked to the production of various vegetables, rearing of laying hens and broilers, as well as agricultural marketing in the Districts of Caia, Gorongosa , Cheringoma, Muanza, Marromeu, Chemba, Marínguè, Nhamatanda and Cidade da Beira.
