The Zambezi Agency participates in the Business Forum of the Regional Organization of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), which will take place in Maputo city between the 22nd and 23rd of this month.
This is an initiative of the SADC and the Mozambican Government with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship events, opportunities and investment in the southern region of Africa.
On its stand, the Zambezi Agency exposes the potential of the Zambezi Valley region and investment opportunities in some sectors considered strategic for the development of this region of the country. The institution also exhibits the impact of some projects supported by it.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the President of the Republic and Acting President of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Filipe Nyusi, spoke of the challenges for improving the business environment in the region (SADC), pointing out the need for cooperation among the members.
“It will be necessary to continue with the trade promotion process. One of the presuppositions is the adequate infrastructure and policies for the countries to work together”, said President Nyusi.
The two-day event aims to promote strategic areas such as industrialization; investments; sustainability and business environment. Topics will be debated on: Agribusiness and Industry; Tourism and Resilience; Corridors and Logistics and Energy.
It was attended by the President of the Republic of Botswana and Acting President of the Organ of Cooperation in the Areas of Politics, Defense and Security of the Organization, Mokgweetsi Masisi, as guest of honor
