The City of Chimoio today hosted a meeting on Public-Private Dialogue and Public Consultation in the context of the creation of the Vanduzi Special Economic Zone (SEZ)

This event was co-organized by the Provincial Co-ordination Council of Manica and the Provincial Business Council (CEP) with the objective of improving the business environment and listen to the private sector about the creation of the Vanduzi SEZ, an initiative that has the support of the Zambezi Agency and the Agency for Promotion of Investment and Export (APIEX)

On the occasion, the two government bodies and the Manica CEP signed a Public-Private Dialogue matrix aiming at the removal of barriers that undermine the business environment in the province, in view of several challenges presented by the business class.

Today’s session also discussed the proposal to upgrade the Chimoio airfield through the installation of a cold storage terminal for fresh produce in the context of air cargo transport.

The meeting on Public-Private Dialogue and public consultation on the Vanduzi SEZ was

led by the Governor, Francisca Tomás and the Secretary of State, Edson Macuácuá.

The event was attended by representatives of government institutions, representatives of the private sector, civil society and others.

The Zambezi Agency was represented by the Director of Studies and Strategic Analysis Services, José Cardoso, the Delegate of the institution in Manica Province, Ricardo Jorge and the Head of Strategic Studies Department, Eduardo Mucavele.
