The districts of Changara and Tete City hosted, between the 21st and 22nd of this month, public consultation sessions on the “Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) for the Program for Integrated Development and Adaptation to Climate Change in the Zambezi Valley (PIDACC).
This activity is part of a financing program supported by the African Development Bank, valued at about USD 3 million, to support initiatives for resilience to climate shocks in the Districts of Changara (Tete), Guro (Manica), Chemba (Sofala) and Mopeia (Zambezia), covered by the Zambezi Valley.
This action, co-organized by the Zambezi Agency and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (co-coordinator), had the objective to guarantee the mapping of the main environmental and social risks to ensure positive impacts in terms of resilience to climate shocks such as drought and floods.
Participants in this event included representatives from the Zambezi Agency, Changara and Tete City district governments, namely: National Institute for Disaster Management (INGD), ARACENTRO, INAM, Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Fisheries, Provincial Directorate of Land, Territorial Development and Environment, Provincial Environment Services, PMA, ACE Agrarian, among others.
