The mechanised reno potato harvest has begun in Sofala’s Búzi district.
The initiative is part of the programme to massify reno potato cultivation, supported by the Zambezi Agency, with the aim of increasing production and productivity levels in the central region of the country.
The activity involves 15 producers from the districts of Búzi and Gorongosa.
According to the Sofala Delegate, Charles Parreirão, a production of 510 tonnes of reno potatoes is expected, with a resizing of up to 60 tonnes/hectare, in an area of around 9 hectares.
