The Governor of Tete Province, Domingos Viola, carried out today, in Tete City, the delivery of 33 kits of agricultural inputs to an equal number of producers affected by Tropical Cyclone Freddy.
This initiative counts with the intervention of Zambezi Agency aiming to support the recovery of productive capacity, according to the Governor of Tete.
“With these seeds and material we will be able to get back on our feet after we had a bad time with Cyclone Freddy,” said Domingos Viola, hopeful that the seeds “will help in the practice of the second season that already starts next month.
The Chief of the Tete Provincial Executive also stressed that the support (seeds) may cover more than 4 thousand families, highlighting the challenge of the government to help about 11 thousand families.
Still in the occasion, the governor exhorted the beneficiaries to engage themselves in order to generate self-support and support others.
” They will sow seeds so that they can produce food to sell, have money to support our families, and solve other problems.”
According to the Zambezi Agency Delegate, in Tete Province, Nuno Pinto Novo, more than 200 kilograms of seeds were allocated, where it is expected a production of five tons of diverse vegetables at the provincial level.
