The General Director of Zambezi Agency, Roberto Albino, carried out yesterday (15/09), in Mafambisse, Dondo district, Sofala province, the delivery of 15 tractors and the respective agricultural implements to producers of this province.
The initiative aims at creating capacity, with means and agricultural equipment, for the preparation of the agricultural mechanisation campaign in that central province of the country. It is framed in the implementation of the Zambezi Valley Agricultural Mechanisation Programme (PROMAG) and in the Integrated Development Project of the rice value chain, according to the DG of Zambezi Agency
” We intend to increase the capacity to provide mechanised services to improve efficiency and effectiveness in soil preparation and provision of other operations with a focus on increasing rice production and productivity” said Roberto Albino, adding that the objective to “guarantee material for the operationalisation of the established rice processing units”.
Of the equipment allocated, it is worth highlighting the introduction of new lines of 110 and 125 Hp agricultural tractors and heavy implements with a daily capacity of 7 to 10 hectares per tractor, in which it is expected to reduce operating time and costs, maintenance, ensuring economic profitability.
