On Monday (17 August), the German Development Cooperation agency GIZ held a training session in the city of Tete for technical staff from the Zambezi Valley Development Agency (ADVZ) and its partners, focusing on the bankability of projects within the Blue Economy.

The training aims to equip participants with the knowledge and tools to structure projects developed in the Zambezi Valley and increase the chances of securing funding from financial institutions.

During the training, the technical staff deepened their understanding of how to structure proposals, draw up business plans and meet the requirements set by financial institutions for access to funding.

The initiative forms part of efforts to promote the sustainable use of water resources in Tete Province and the Zambezi Valley, with a view to boosting job creation and income generation for communities living along the riverbanks.

It is hoped that the training will strengthen the participants’ technical capacity to prepare economically viable projects capable of attracting investment, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the Zambezi Valley region.
