The Zambezi Valley Development Agency, IP (ADVZ, IP) and the Ministry of State Administration and the Civil Service (MAEFP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding today (23 June) in Matola, Maputo Province, with a view to training and developing civil service staff.
The partnership provides for the delivery of training and capacity-building initiatives in the areas of leadership and team management in the public administration, contract management and participatory planning, amongst other areas of mutual interest to be defined by the parties.
On the occasion, the Director-General of ADVZ, Celso Cunha, stated that the initiatives set out in the memorandum could help to strengthen staff’s technical, administrative and behavioural skills, improve the quality of public service delivery, and promote research and innovation in the public sector.
It should be noted that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding took place as part of the celebrations for Civil Service Day, observed annually on 23 June.
