The Director-General of the Zambezi Agency, Celso Cunha, was received in audience last Friday (24) in Quelimane by the Secretary of State for Zambézia Province, Avelino Pinto.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the province’s development, with a particular focus on improving the living conditions and well-being of the population.
On the occasion, Avelino Pinto highlighted the need to increase investment in the water and sanitation infrastructure sector in the district of Mocuba, and also expressed concern about the severe erosion in the district of Chinde.
The official also highlighted the project to establish the integrated water and energy supply system in Conono, Mocuba, supported by the Zambezi Agency, describing it as a key infrastructure project with a direct impact on the lives of local communities.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Zambezi Agency’s outreach visit, currently underway in the provinces of Tete, Manica, Zambézia and Sofala, as part of the dissemination of its strategic vision and the Strategic Development Plan for the Zambezi Valley Region (PROZAMBEZE) for the period 2026–2036.
