The Zambezi Agency proceeded today, in the District of Namacurra, to deliver agricultural inputs to producers affected by Tropical Cyclone Freddy.

According to the Zambezi Agency Delegate in Zambezia Province, Alves Vicente, this intervention comes in response to the impacts that Cyclone Freddy caused in the local business fabric, especially to the family sector producers.

“We designed an action program to intervene in the main areas of vegetable production through the allocation of seeds of various horticultural products in order to strengthen the productive capacity of emerging producers and the family sector,” said Alves Vicente.

The Zambezi Agency Delegate also referred that will be allocated 42 horticultural kits for the establishment of community nurseries; established 16 demonstration fields of results; 14 production technologies in controlled environments and two high yield centers.

“Also, will be distributed about 500 kg of vegetable seeds; 33.3 tons of fertilizers; 842 pesticide packages that may benefit more than 2100 producers,” said Alves.

The inputs delivery ceremony was directed by the Zambezia Provincial Agriculture Director and was attended by producers from Mocuba, Namacurra and Nicoadala Districts.
